The 2 members of Nothingerz, Julien Baptiste and Dennis Nilsson met in mid 2015 shortly after Julien moved to Los Angeles from Montreal, Canada. Julien posted an ad looking for a drummer and held auditions in Hollywood. Among many drummers auditioned, Dennis, who came to Los Angeles from Sweden 4 years ago to study music at Musician’s Institute in Hollywood, was the only one to show genuine interest for the music and was by far the most skilled drummer to take part in the auditions. The duo started playing together and felt a strong musical chemistry right away.
The band has since played over 40 shows across Southern California including many performances at the legendary Viper room in West Hollywood and has been crafting their unique sound in the studio writing and self-producing over 50 songs so far. The band changed their name from Zenith to Nothingerz to mark a change in the musical direction of the band to something more melodic and uplifting and less “Dark” but still preserving their heavy riffs and saturated guitar tones.
Nothingerz is set to release their new 5 song EP in January 2017. The recording will be available on all major platforms including Spotify and iTunes. There will also be physical copies available through the website www.nothingerz.com.
The 2nd single “Midnight Empire” will be a follow up to their 1st release “Day Or Life”. The new single will also be released in early January 2017along with a new music video.
